Day 1: Arrival in Beijing

  • Arrive in Beijing, China’s bustling capital city.
  • Visit Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, followed by the Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
  • Evening: Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring Peking duck, a local delicacy.
  • Accommodation: Hotel in central Beijing.

 

Day 2: Mutianyu Great Wall Trek

  • Morning: Travel to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, known for its restored watchtowers and breathtaking scenery.
  • Afternoon: Trek along the wall for approximately 4–5 hours, soaking in views of rolling hills and valleys.
  • Optional: Take a toboggan ride down from the wall for a fun, adventurous experience.
  • Evening: Overnight stay in a nearby lodge with views of the Great Wall.

 

Day 3: Authentic Great Wall Experience (Jiankou and Gubeikou)

  • Morning: Head to the Jiankou section, a wild and unrestored part of the Great Wall known for its dramatic scenery and fewer crowds. This section offers a more challenging trek and is perfect for photography enthusiasts.
  • Afternoon: Continue to Gubeikou, another less touristy section of the wall, for a peaceful and authentic hiking experience.
  • Evening: Return to your lodge for a hearty meal and rest.

 

Day 4: Summer Palace & Temple of Heaven

  • Morning: Visit the Summer Palace, a sprawling imperial garden with stunning lakes, pavilions, and temples. Take a boat ride on Kunming Lake for a unique perspective of the palace.
  • Afternoon: Explore the Temple of Heaven, a magnificent complex where emperors performed rituals to ensure a good harvest. Learn about its architectural significance and symbolism.

Day 5: Ming Tombs & Sacred Way
