Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400m)
- Arrive in Nepal’s capital city.
- Visit iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
- Evening briefing about the trek, followed by a welcome dinner with authentic Nepali cuisine.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2,840m) & Trek to Phakding (2,610m)
- Early morning scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to Everest.
- Start trekking through lush green forests, crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River to reach Phakding.
- Trekking duration: 3–4 hours.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Phakding.
Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
- Cross several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge.
- Enter Sagarmatha National Park and trek uphill to the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, known as the gateway to Everest.
- Trekking duration: 5–6 hours.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
- Explore Namche Bazaar, visit the Sherpa Museum, and enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest and Ama Dablam.
- Optional short hikes to Everest View Hotel or nearby villages like Khumjung and Khunde.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Trek to Tengboche (3,860m)
- Hike through rhododendron forests and enjoy views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.
- Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, one of the most significant spiritual centers in the region.
- Trekking duration: 5–6 hours.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Tengboche.
Day 6: Trek to Dingboche (4,410m)
- Cross rivers and ascend above the treeline, entering alpine landscapes.
- Arrive at Dingboche, a picturesque village surrounded by stunning mountain views.
- Trekking duration: 5–6 hours.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Dingboche.
Day 7: Trek to Lobuche (4,940m)
- Pass memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest.
- Enjoy views of towering peaks like Pumori, Lingtren, and Khumbutse.
- Trekking duration: 5–6 hours.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Lobuche.
Day 8: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) via Gorak Shep (5,164m)
- Begin the day trekking to Gorak Shep, a small settlement at the edge of the Khumbu Glacier.
- Continue to Everest Base Camp, where climbers prepare for their Everest ascent. Soak in the incredible views of the Khumbu Icefall.
- Return to Gorak Shep for the night.
- Trekking duration: 7–8 hours.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Gorak Shep.
Day 9: Hike to Kalapatthar (5,545m) & Descend to Pheriche (4,280m)
- Early morning hike to Kalapatthar, the best viewpoint for sunrise over Mount Everest and other peaks.
- Descend to Pheriche, retracing your steps through the beautiful Himalayan landscape.
- Trekking duration: 7–8 hours.
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Pheriche.
Day 10: Return to Lukla & Fly Back to Kathmandu
- Retrace your steps through Namche Bazaar and Phakding to return to Lukla.
- Fly back to Kathmandu and enjoy a free afternoon to relax or shop for souvenirs.
- Optional celebratory dinner in the evening.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu.
